My appreciation of osteopathy comes from my father, who has been a practising osteopath since I was born. As a result, through a wide range of close experience, I have learned about the profession, the philosophy, and the breadth of examples where osteopathy is beneficial. I have seen the benefit it can bring to people and how it can enhance their lives and well-being.

I studied in London at the British School of Osteopathy (currently known as the University College of Osteopathy), graduating with a Masters in Osteopathy (M.Ost) in 2010. I spent time working in the UK before moving to New Zealand in 2015 and to Pukekohe in 2016. Working in various clinics in the UK and NZ has allowed me to see and treat multiple people and symptoms and broaden my skills within the field.

I enjoy working with people, hearing their stories and working with them to resolve their symptoms, thus enabling individuals to live and move more comfortably and confidently. I believe that feeling good and living well is essential, as life is about movement, progression and happiness.

Osteopathy is a method of healthcare which treats various musculoskeletal symptoms and problems, aiming to restore function and mobility of the joints, improving overall health and well-being.
Osteopaths work with their hands to mobilise and manipulate joints, muscles and soft tissue, working across the musculoskeletal system and the body as a whole.
Appointments and treatments are patient-specific and will use a mixture of gentle and more forceful techniques depending on the patient and the symptoms they are experiencing. The methods aim to reduce pain, improve movement and encourage blood flow. They may include:
  • massage and stretching to release and relax the muscles
  • articulation to move joints through their natural range of motion
  • joint manipulation – short, sharp movements to specific joints, which normally produce a clicking noise similar to cracking your knuckles.
Osteopathy can help a wide variety of symptoms and can benefit anyone of any age, from babies to the elderly and everyone in between.
